In the city of Rochester, council members approved municipal legislation on Tuesday barring pre-employment marijuana testing for non-safety sensitive city employees. “Virginia’s first medical dispensaries will open this year, and the Commonwealth is in the process of studying a regulatory framework for adult-use,” she said.
Senate lawmakers approved legislation yesterday that seeks to regulate patients’ access to select medical cannabis products. Senators on Wednesday passed legislation to significantly expand the pool of patients eligible to qualify for medical cannabis access. As amended by the Senate, state-licensed dispensaries will be mandated to “comply with the reporting requirements of the [state’s] prescription monitoring program.”
In coordination with the Cannabis Regulation Oversight Office (CROO) and legislators, IDFPR has begun efforts to allow medical patients to receive their medical tax rate at any dispensary in Illinois. On Wednesday, June 30, Governor Tom Wolf (D) of Pennsylvania signed medical cannabis legislation amendments into effect. Under the terms of the legislation, House Bill 1024 will extend cannabis curbside services and indefinitely eradicate the patient cap for actively serving caregivers.
Cannabis dispensary owners and employees are hoping to see a decrease in armed robberies with the passage of a bill imposing stricter penalties for offenders. The bill proposes increasing the standard sentence range by 12 months for those found guilty of robbing a dispensary. Kitsap Daily News reports.
