Government Survey Data Shows Nearly 20 Percent Decline in Teen Marijuana Use Over Past Decade

The NSDUH data reports that the percentage of those ages 12 to 17 who reported having ever tried marijuana fell 18 percent from 2014 to 2023. Those reporting having consumed cannabis during the past year fell 15 percent. The percentage of teens reporting current marijuana use fell 19 percent.

MCAB awaits chair appointment for final decision on recommended conditions

During the last few months, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), in conjunction with the Medical Cannabis Advisory Board (MCAB), voted to add four new recommended conditions to list of qualifying debilitating condition for Illinois patients in the Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Program. The recommendations have been on hold, including postponing the July board meeting, until the Office of the Governor can appoint a chair and co-chair to the board.
