The Texan reports. The Supreme Court of Texas has accepted a challenge to Texas’ prohibition on hemp for smoking. A group of hemp companies is suing the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), the state agency in charge of regulating consumable hemp. After the companies won at district court, the agency appealed and the state’s highest civil court agreed to hear oral arguments on March 22.

Congress has not given a Texas hemp producer the ability to sue the Denver Police Department for confiscating 32 of his plants at Denver International Airport earlier this year, a federal judge determined in dismissing the lawsuit. Francisco Serna, a resident of Austin, said the seized plants cost him under $200, but would have been worth more as hemp products, such as food, clothing or oils.

17 December… A New Mexico state judge ruled on Thursday that medical cannabis patients cannot purchase the same amount as non-patients when recreational-use sales begin. Second Judicial District Court Judge Benjamin Chavez, in his written ruling, dismissed a claim from a medical cannabis patient that medical cannabis patients should be afforded the same purchase limits as what is laid out in the state’s Cannabis Regulation Act, which went into effect in June.
