May 2023, the Department of Financial & Professional Regulation (IDFPR) announced that Illinois was switching its cannabis seed-to-sale tracking system from BioTrack to Metrc and listed this transition as an Essential Projects in the FY2023 Annual Cannabis Report and again in the FY2024 report.
Illinois is set to switch its cannabis seed-to-sale tracking system after delivering a Notice of Intent to award a contract to a new vendor.
