Tangie Berry was an “aimless sativa,” providing an energetic and stimulating effect, yet leaving the mind unfocused and scattered.

Core coloration of bright-turf green was almost entirely shrouded by deep-purple pieces of sticky-sugar leaf and an amber-trichome frost concentrated at the creases. Hazelnut Cream is a sativa-leaning cross of Miami Haze and Cookies & Cream. Chunky and turf green with a smattering of orange hairs, these flowers had some left over sugar leaves shrouding the glittering trichomes below. Hazelnut Cream felt much more like a mood-boosting hybrid than an energetic sativa.
In early development, the green buds darkened, some pistils turned orange, and trichomes came earlier than expected. Then one day, I left for an event, and when I came home the following day, the leaves started turning purple. The effects landed in the slightly sativa spectrum with a strong head and body high.

Banana Dance is a sativa-leaning cross of Banana and Dancehall. The trichomes were visible with the naked eye, giving the edges of leaves a milky frost coloring that glistened in the light. Manzano is a sativa-dominant cross of Apples & Bananas and Apples & Bananas, bred by Compound Genetics (in collaboration with Cookies). A heavy coat of trichomes gave the buds a cream-color hue. Though I enjoy sativa strains from Revolution, I’ve never found a Work Sativa that checked all the boxes until this review.
I’ve extolled the benefits of the sativa landrace strain from South Africa here before, so it should be no surprise that I was itching to try the UpNorth run of Durban when I found it on the menu at Trinity Compassionate Care. ILNJ photos The eighth came as a handful of loosely structured, bright green buds with patches of clumped-together thick-orange hairs and a generous milky trichome frost. Surprisingly energetic and uplifting, The Glove effect profile was more sativa leaning than the hybrid label indicated.
Guava Bars is a sativa-leaning hybrid cross of Biscotti and Guava’z #74. Four pointed flowers splashed with various pinks and dark purples carried thick orange hairs and a sparkling trichome frost that glistened in the light. The mental energy was short lived but the clarity stuck with me for a couple hours, making Tropicanna Punch BX1 a solid fit for a wake and bake or as a Work Sativa.

Sour Orange—a sativa-leaning (65%/35%) cross of Clementine, Orange Sherbet, and Tangie—grew dense bulb-shaped dark-green and purple-hued colas with bright-orange pistils and heavy trichome coverage, giving the strain strong bag appeal. The effects landed right where I’d hoped for a Work Sativa.
